Clinton
Leupp created the character of Miss Coco Peru for his first show
"My Gaddamn Cabaret", which quickly developed a following and ran
for two years at Rose's Turn in New York. He also wrote and performed
"Miss Coco Peru: A Legend in Progress", which won a 1992 Manhattan
Association of Cabaret Award and a Backstage Bistro Award. Leupp
has performed as Miss Coco Peru in many cabaret clubs around the
world and recently completed a successful run at New York's Westbeth
Theatre Center with "Miss Coco Peru's Liquid Universe", which was
nominated for a 1999 GLAAD Media Award. Leupp worked with director
Jim Fall prior to trick, starring in Fall's off-Broadway play "Blood
Orgy of the Carnival Quenns". Leupp also appeared as Miss Coco Peru
in Beeban Kidron's To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar
and Rich Mauro's Nick and Jane.
